About

About the South Central Region of the National Ski Patrol

The South Central Region is a sub-organization of the Central Division of the National Ski Patrol (NSP), a federally-chartered 501(c)(3) nonprofit membership association. We support ski patrols in southern and eastern Wisconsin, providing education and training to volunteer patrollers to ensure public safety on the slopes. Our mission is to keep people safe on the mountain and during other outdoor activities, and our values include excellence, service, camaraderie, leadership, integrity, and responsiveness.

Staff

Our dedicated staff of 38 volunteers is the backbone of our organization. We are lead by Region Director Dave Kleinschmidt and Assistant Region Directors Tim Weinand, Leanna Olson-Taunt, and Brad Bailey.  In addition to the Director’s Staff, Tim, Leanna, and Brad work with a group of advisors who focus on skills, programs, and administration.

Affiliated Patrols

We are proud to support 13 affiliated patrols. All are members of the National Ski Patrol (NSP) organization and operate independently.  Each patrol maintains their roster of patrollers, conducts training within NSP guidelines, and supports the safety needs of their local hill.  The region serves as an important liaison between the individual patrols, and the division and national organizations.
